An independent media production group of long-term
foreign residents of Kyoto.
Planet Kyoto Media creates video programs and DVDs focused
on the Cultural, Natural and Architectural traditions and
treasures of Kyoto, the ancient captital and cultural heart
of Japan.
Bring back photos that you will treasure for a lifetime.
For photography enthusiasts who want to get the most out
of their time in Kyoto, Planet Kyoto Media offers a one-of-a-kind
Experience Kyoto Photo Quest. We will take you to
the lesser known picturesque sites of Kyoto and use our connections
to give you access to photograph traditional old houses and
shops INSIDE and OUT, with a discussion of significant cultural
and architectural aspects of Kyoto, as well as practice with
the unique and alluring Kyoto dialect. |
A cool evening is so more cool to the skin after a summer
so hot, so mercilessly hot as the one now passing.
The chirp of the crickets is the backbeat for the mini-combine
harvesters shearing off row after row of rice in the ridiculously
small, oddly-shaped paddies between the buildings in town.
Elsewhere, people still do it the old fashioned way, scything
the stalks by hand (man, their shoulders must hurt at the
end of a day) and racking them up on bucks to dry out for
a few days before threshing.
