posted June 26, 2010

On May 3, 2010, the Kyoto band elements played its final show as elements. After 15 years and seven albums, the death of elements drummer Sanjo Toru in January 2010 marked the end of one part of their musical journey. This show was a celebration of their music and a tribute to their friend. The entire concert was filmed by Planet Kyoto with 2 cameras and a separate digital stereo recorder.

Elements! I had no idea there was a finale. I so wish I could have been there.
Oddly, from about May 3rd, I have begun re-listening to all the CDs, intermittently, memories of the guys on the stage, the rhythms, us dancing…singing and dancing for all the wonderful songs… natsukashiii!
Re-listening to the elements this summer, I have come to appreciate even more the depth of the lyrics, the highly elegant arrangements, and just the pain and the great fun that these guys must have had over the years creating together.
    Thank you brothers!
Keep me posted to your next projects, I will always be a devoted fan, a sistah!
