    I am immediately reminded of Tampopo, the Juzo Itami film in which, at the end, the yakuza narrator recounts a hunt for wild boar (猪 = イノシシ) in the forest. The boar had been gorging itself on wild yams, and the hunter gutted and roasted the yammed-filled intestines over an open fire–instant yam sausage. Mmmmm, yum…

    That’s an equestrian festival with acrobatic horse-riding and a mikoshi parade down south at Fujinomori shrine on May 5, the same day as the equestrian festival at Kamigamo shrine up north with horse racing.
