A Kyoto City-designated Important Cultural Asset on Karasuma St. north of Marutamachi subway station. English services on Sundays at 0830; visitors are welcome.
Yeah I used to go there when I lived in Kyoto 2000-2001. Nice wee place. The 8:30 services are run by a part-time American priest (Scott). He’s a carpenter the rest of the time. Thoroughly nice bloke.
Very welcoming and services quite informal. Small core of expats and usually quite a few visitors passing through.
Do check it out if you happen to be up early on a Sunday!
Thanks for the nice comment Craig. Hope things are well with you.
Thanks to Nils for the web plug. All people of faith are welcome. Service includes a discussion sermon on the readings for the day. Coffee and light snack follow.
