If you are coming into Kyoto via JR Kyoto Station over the next few days, you may want to butter your hips to get through the massive crowds of sakura seekers.
We will be be in Japan, staying at the Biwako Hotel in Otsu, near Kyoto, the week of April 17th.
The Biwako Hotel has free Dial-up internet access in the guest rooms. (And no bisness center) I would like to bring my lap-top computer with us to use in the room, but I would need a local ISP to access the internet.
I’m hoping for suggestions on how to obtain a local ISP for not any (free) or very few Yen for one week.
As you know, here in the U.S.A., there is free trial offers for A.O.L. and other ISPs that can be used for 30 days or whatever the limit is.
If there is something similar in Japan, where could I get it, and would it be in English so I could understand how to install it?
Also, is there any freeby I could download from here before we leave for Japan?
Thank you very much for any advice you might share.
I like the three photos in this post very much. Thanks!

This is a wondrous time to be in Japan! I remember the cherry blossoms and the pink, snowlike effects when the wind blew through the trees a week after peak blossom-time. I envy you and thank you for posting all the pictures.

Hi
Great site!
I’m visiting Kyoto from Hong Kong tomorrow (16th April). IS the sakura still going? How many days left? I’d hate to miss it!
