More from Kurashiki, Okayama Bikan area

posted November 4, 2004

Home of the Chariotaku.

Kurashiki gets 5 stars from Gregory for being so baby friendly. He really liked Tivoli Park, and both the park and the tourist information center located in the middle of the Bikan sightseeing area had baby changing facilities. We’ll be back, and maybe go down to the sea as well next time.

    Gorgeous photo’s as usual!

Whats that lattice-work on the buildings? Is it decorative or functional?

I loved Kurashiki. I’d really like to go back. We didn’t even get to all the museums. (Did you see the toy museum?)

The material seems to be regular Japanese kawara roofing tile, but formed into flat squares and slate grey in color, set in white plaster that’s raised and rounded between the tiles.

The last picture is the place where we stayed, Ryokan Misono.
