Wish I could be there, as usual. I have pleasant memories of walking Shijo during Gion, and talking with friends and locals. First time I had shio-yaki ayu was there. Is that jinbei you’re wearing?
Yeah, that’s a jinbei, and Greg is wearing his new baby yukata. I’ll put a picture of it in the gallery section. My university professor and his wife stayed with us a few years ago, and he thought it was outrageous when I ate roasted ayu on a stick in Arashiyama. I haven’t been to Arashiyama in ages, I ought to get over there, regardless of how crowded it is.
