Did I say I had finished with sakura?

posted April 17, 2004

Actually, the kanzan sakura are in bloom now around town. I shot this today near Shijo-Kawaramachi.

    Hi
I have just found your pages. I will be visiting Kyoto in the last week of April. Excited to see the city and the blossoms. I am a keen Quilter and would love some address’s etc for quilt shops, fabrics. If you have any advice I would welcome it. Thankyou

    Hallo Anne,
I am no quilter but enjoy fabrics.Ive only visited Kyoto once before in November 2003, but am coming again first two weeks in April. When wandering along Shijo-dori, near the Daimaru department store, I came across a small fabric shop. It may have been narrow but it went back a long way! Full of rolls of the most interesting everyday fabrics. The good news is that it sold lots of small end pieces of fabrics very cheaply! Enjoy the hunt for it anyway! Val

That will be fun to check out. I am not a quilter, but I AM a spinner! Well, to be accurate, I was. (I have only two sheep now, and dont have time or inclination to spin their fleeces) Thanks for the info Nils. An excellent blog you have, always interesting!
