We have asked not to be told in advance whether our baby is a boy or girl, so we have to come up with male and female names. We have already decided on the name if it’s a girl, but we are stumped for boys names. Japanese and/or Western in any combination of first and middle names is OK.
Family name: Ferry (フェリー)
I’m Danish on my mother’s side, Irish-American on my father’s side.

I meant to say “Congratulations!” previously.
Kai’s a nice name, and exists in both Celtic languages and Japanese, I believe. ivillage’s baby name site used to be pretty good (for writing, anyway):

Good luck with everything to come!

Congratulations!!!
I guess Bloguo (風呂具男?) would be out of the question?!? Kind of reminds me of that Kuoku (クオク)commercial series.

How about “Ken”? Seems to be cross-cultural…
ALso, you could always think about having three kids and naming the middle ojne “And”.
Then, whenever you call them all together you can say for example: Tom, And, Jane….^_^

Nils, we were planning on using Kai if we ever had a son.
Of course, I think Trent is a cool name too ;) thanks Dave!
Don’t worry – we didn’t decide until the last moment with any of our kids. Choosing a name for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. Take your time.

What about Kae if it’s a girl.
At the moment, my unborn child has been affectionately nicknamed Pudding.

Hello,
I hope I’m not too late.
My brother and I are half-Japanese so our parents gave us names that are both Japanese and Western.. Eugene ゆã†ã˜ã‚“ is both Japanese and French. Depending on the kanji you use, it can mean “friend” or “light one.”
And, as mentioned earlier, Kai and Ken are popular half-Japanese names, as well as “Rei” and “Kei.”

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, most of which we hadn’t thought of or read on lists. We are talking it over.

Kazuma or Kazuki I’m not sure if Kazuma is a real Japanese name, but you can put it in hiragana as you know.
