Did you ever see the first movie Woody Allen “directed”, What’s Up, Tiger Lily? (1966). Directed is in quotes because it’s actually a cheap Japanese spy yarn that Woody Allen bought and dubbed into English, changing it into an absurd quest for a legendary egg salad recipe.
Now that the honorable Arnold Schwarzenegger is the governor of my home state, I was thinking that someone should do a “Tiger Lily” on the 1987 movie Predator. Instead of trying to outsmart an invisible alien, edit and dub it into a story of Arnold and pro wrestler Jesse “The Body” Ventura plotting their strategies to win the gubernatorial elections in Minnesota and California. With the software available now, this is the kind of project you could do at home.

Most remarkable thing I’ve seen to date in US politics. Before this was Clinton not getting impeached. Both prove that if you have a strong “likable” persona on TV and/or Film, you can get into politics. The sad thing is that if FDR (who saved the country in the 30′s) ran today, he would have never made it out of the primaries because he was bound to a wheel chair – of course he was arguably one of our greatest leaders… Anyway, getting back to the video project: you could easily take a homemade film like that and turn it into a combined ticket for the presidency in 2012.

Long time no comment, chief! But, um, Clinton WAS impeached, 5 years ago this month, in fact.
You remember, the “high crimes and misdemeanors” listed in the charges had nothing to do with the alleged fraud that Starr was hired to investigate, but instead were SOLELY based on lying about sex. It became obvious that he did lie about sex — who hasn’t — but the Senate decided that didn’t add up to enough to remove him from office.

It’s gonna be great. Aside from the entertainment value, I think that Arnold has the potential for instigating some significant change in our money-sapped, business-lacking state. Him being Gov is so absurd, and expectations are so low, that he almost has to rise to the occassion.

Bah! The crime of the trials was that they never got caught (which does pass for innocence in America – 100 criminals can go free just so one innocent man won’t go by mistake; I believe it’s a good system actually!) And yes, lying about sex is fine for an everyday mortal, but it’s a crime when under oath, which I believe he was, hence SOMEthing should have happen… bah. It all sucks – he’ll probably run again in 2012 too!

Clinton was disbarred for lying, that’s pretty serious to me. But there was nothing about Whitewater in the impeachment docket, nothing more serious than lying about sex. You don’t really want to lower the bar that much. do you? My hometown unfavorite son Nixon wiretapped the other party for months leading up to an election, compomising the election system, and got a full pardon. Reagan just kepts saying he didn’t remember anything about illegally funding guerilla rebel insurgents in Nicaragua, and got off scot free. These are much more like the “high crimes and misdemeanors” than any sweetheart land deals and special favors Clinton may have done before taking office, basically just grazing on easy money.
Anyway, George Bush hears the call for less emphasis on proving guilt before meting out punishment, and he is working night and day on this bold campaign to transform America into a fascist state. The Constitution of the United States is being held incommunicado as we speak in a cell in no man’s land in Guantanamo.

You give GWB too much credit. Blame the FBI and CIA for giving bad intel if you blame anyone for attacking Iraq. Bush basically just pushed the button.
